  1. 1.Training Programs for Leading Teachers of the Japanese Language

  2. 1) Graduate Program on Japanese Language and Culture (Master's Course)

This program is designed to provide teachers of the Japanese language abroad with an opportunity to obtain a Master's degree in Japanese-language education.

  1. 2) Advanced Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese Language

This Program is designed for individuals or teams of up to 3 people who require more advanced expertise and skills as teachers of Japanese, and have specific challenges they wish to address, or have issues they want to resolve in the teaching of the Japanese language.

  2. 1) Long-Term Training Program

This 6 month program is designed to provide teachers of the Japanese language abroad with an opportunity to improve their Japanese language skills and teaching methodology and to deepen participants` knowledge of Japan.

2) Short-Term Training Program
This 2 month program is designed to provide teachers of the Japanese language abroad with an opportunity to improve their Japanese language skills and teaching methodology and to deepen their knowledge of Japan.

Japanese-Language Programs for Specialists in Cultural and Academic Fields


This 6 month program provides specialists (researchers, postgraduate students, librarians, museum curators, etc.) who need a good command of Japanese language for conducting their field-related work and research with course of Japanese language specifically designed for their needs.

Japanese Studies Overseas and Intellectual Exchange

  1. 1.Japan Foundation Japanese Studies Fellowship Program

This program provides opportunities to conduct research in Japan by supporting preeminent foreign scholars in Japanese Studies.

2.Grant Program for Intellectual Exchange Conferences

This program contributes to intellectual collaboration worldwide by providing grants to partially cover the expenses of implementing projects (e.g. international conferences, symposia, seminars, workshops, etc.).
